EARLY CHILDHOOD THERAPY PROGRAM
What This Program Offers
Fort Worth and Southlake Play Therapy provides specialized play therapy and parent support for young children ages 1 to 5. Our approach blends child centered play therapy with solution focused behavioral intervention to support early regulation, behavior, and family connection during the years when change is most effective.

For young children, play is the primary way they communicate, learn, and practice new skills. Therapy focuses on helping children build regulation, flexibility, and coping skills through play, while parents learn how to support progress at home and in daily routines.
How the Early Childhood Therapy Program Works
Our program uses a structured framework designed to reduce overwhelm and support steady progress. Care unfolds in a predictable sequence, beginning with emotional regulation and connection and moving toward skill building and generalizing new skills across home, school, and community settings. Parents are active partners throughout.
A Clear Path to Progress
Treatment follows a clear, short term framework rather than an open-ended counseling model. Most families attend weekly sessions for an average of 10 to 12 weeks, though progress is guided by each child’s individual needs rather than a fixed timeline.
To keep the process manageable and reduce overwhelm, care is organized around a predictable sequence of Core Phases. Each phase builds on the one before it:

Understanding and Regulation:
We begin by settling nervous systems and identifying the reasons behind specific behaviors.

Connection and Communication:
Play is used to strengthen connection and support safer ways for children to express needs.

Skill Building:
Therapy focuses on practical growth in areas such as transitions, flexibility, and frustration tolerance.

Generalization:
New skills are practiced across home, school, and community settings.

As therapy progresses, skills are supported beyond the playroom to encourage independence and long term success.
Partnering With Parents
Parents are active participants throughout the process. Support, tools, and practical handouts are shared gradually to ensure information stays manageable and easy to apply.

This approach reduces overwhelm, supports steady progress, and provides clear next steps for families and collaborating providers.
